Maria Myrick is a violinist based in Los Angeles whose work now centers around community organizing. An advocate for equal access to the arts and quality education, Maria taught for five years at Renaissance Arts Academy, a public charter school. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance with a minor in Philosophy from Chapman University and a Masters in Performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Upon completing her multiple subject teaching credential from California State University LA, Myrick realized just how dire the need is for complete educational reform. Working at Saving the West Foundation allows Maria to continue providing support to undeserved children. She currently performs with The Southeast Symphony as their assistant concertmaster.
